About Us

Welcome to the Flames of Love Rosary Apostolate!

We are faithful Catholic sisters promoting devotion of the most Holy Rosary.

Mary will always lead her children safely on the path of holiness, which is that of her Son; and we are living witnesses of it. Anyone who is going through a hard time in their lives will realize that going to mass on Sundays alone is not enough, and such was the case for us. We needed more spiritual nourishment than once a week to deepen our relationship with Christ to get us through trying times. So we started the search, which we know will never end, for a deeper meaning in our lives through prayer and unity with our Savior.

What do most people do when they are lost and searching for answers? They go back to when things were right. When we were kids our mom would bring us to mass on First Fridays to console the Sacred Heart of Jesus, so we began this devotion again in our search because it was familiar. Daily mass only once a month! That was doable for our busy schedules, and we were able to go in the morning before work. We learned of the promises for those who practiced this devotion and offered it for our family which needed Christ’s peace at the time. After our first mass, the parishioners stayed late to pray the Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet; this opened the door to our hearts for the searching and deepening of our prayer lives.

We hadn't heard the Rosary since our mom would make us pray it as kids, and the Divine Mercy Chaplet was completely unknown. After hearing these prayers, we knew this is something we should start to do and decided from then on to start to pray the Rosary every day. What a more beautiful devotion could there be? Filling our hearts with such a great love for the Madonna! But in the schedule of our daily lives, we had little time to spare for such a daily prayer.

The next morning when we were in the car on the way to work, Eva was thinking of the longing in our hearts to have the time every day for Our Mother’s rosary. She then turned to Our Lady, and prayed asking for help. How could they possibly find the time for something as beautiful as Her rosary? Our Lady immediately responded to Eva in her heart, “In the car.” In those few words, her heart lifted with joy, and immediately turning to Miranda asked, “What if we prayed the rosary in the car, on our way to work?” We knew instantaneously, that even though we had a ten-minute commute, that Our Mother would not fall short in filling our hearts in that time. Later Miranda would read the Diary of St. Faustina and we began to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet daily as well.

Although we did not know the order of the mysteries, or even how to say the Hail Holy Queen, after a year of faithfully praying, we looked back from when we had first started and realized how much our spiritual lives had changed. As our devotion to the Blessed Mother grew, and our understanding of this beautiful prayer, we started to look forward to praying our daily Rosary. We were reading whatever we could from the saints about devotion to Mary and her Rosary to enhance this newfound love and devotion. This knowledge only enriched our love of her which eventually led us to find the First Saturday devotion—a simple but profound request made by Our Lady at her apparitions in Fatima, Portugal.

Since we live in New Jersey, we are blessed to live near The Blue Army Fatima Shrine. We had not been there since our mother took us as children, but we decided to go on a First Saturday to honor our Mother’s requests from her Fatima apparitions. It just so happened that the very next First Saturday was October 8th, the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. Upon arriving, we had never felt such peace, and even though we have been there previously, it will never be as special as what we experienced that First Saturday. Mary was so present, we knew that she said every prayer of our Rosary with us.

The Shrine was nearing the end of the peak pilgrimage months, and the weather being cold and rainy actually played to Our Mother’s hand. It was so beautifully quiet and the grounds were stunningly reposed, we could have spent hours adoring such sacred beauty. This is a day which we will treasure in our hearts and forever thank our Lady for allowing us to experience.

We happened to pick up a book at the shrine’s gift shop called “Her Glorious Title”. This book changed our lives and our outlook for what we can do as laypersons to aid Our Lady in the combat for the troubles of the world. The book relates to the Flame of Love movement which we had known of and read ourselves, and were also doing our best to practice, but there was a part which we misunderstood. The Flame of Love movement is said to be ignited within the Carmelite order, so we pushed it off as not being designated towards us, but within Her Glorious Title, John Haffert explains that all those who are enrolled in the brown scapular are of the Carmelite Order. This meant that we could actually promote the triumph of Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart and help ignite Her Flame of Love!

Not long after reading the book, one day after mass we felt that Mary was calling us to start a Rosary prayer group. We started to say it before mass every weekend to encourage the devotion among others and that is how we met Angie, who was always there to pray with us. After becoming friends, without us even telling Angie that we wanted to start a prayer group, she suggested that we start a rosary group together.

Our mission is to Honor the Immaculate Heart of Mary and help her in igniting her Flame of Love one Rosary at a time. If you are looking for a way to deepen your love of Christ and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, please join us! We are sure it will change your lives as it did ours. There is no better way to honor our Mother!

We meet at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Branchville NJ, every Thursday at 7pm, and we also stream our prayers online over Google Meet for those who wish to pray but cannot participate in person. Please consider deeply, the call we all have to our Lady. She is asking each one of us to participate in this sacred mission, and after having heard the call in our own hearts, we hope, and pray that Our Lady will touch your hearts exactly as she did ours—through her blessed rosary. Ave Maria! Amen.
